The mind has a very intimate connection with the body. When the body suffers, the mind also suffers. When the mind suffers, there is a reaction in the body as well.

~ Sri Swami Sivananda

Somatic Psychology (also known as body-centered psychology) is a multi-modal approach to healing psychological trauma and issues. It is an integrated field of study that combines knowledge from anatomy, physiology, and health psychology and is informed by Eastern psychology and practices, such as yoga and meditation. The field integrates mind-body-spiritual practices with cognitive awareness to facilitate a holistic approach to healing.

My approach includes blending Eastern and Western somatic modalities with cognitive and transpersonal psychology to bring awareness to your bodily sensations. With a strong focus on mindfulness, this process allows you to become aware of your thoughts, feelings, and sensations and how they manifest in your body. I believe it is important to carefully tailor the needs of each client with a variety of modalities to help the client move towards a more a connected and fulfilling life. Since 2004, I have been working in the field of body-centered therapy gaining experience in a variety of settings. I have completed extensive training in trauma, domestic violence, sexual assault, and anxiety disorders.
