Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy for Trauma and Mental Health
Psychedelic-assisted therapy is an emerging approach in the treatment of anxiety, trauma, depression, addiction, and other mental health conditions.
When structured within the framework of a therapeutic setting, the sacrament of psychedelic mushrooms can provide a participant with knowledge and experiences that support physical, mental, and spiritual vitality that may be difficult to reach through talk therapy alone.
Psychedelic-assisted therapy is offered as a broader trauma treatment model that includes microdosing, clinical preparation, guided therapeutic journey support, and structured integration.
Participation in psychedelic-assisted therapy is always determined through clinical assessment and is offered only when appropriate and legally supported.
How Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy Works
Psychedelic-assisted therapy utilizes psilocybin (a.k.a Magic Mushrooms), which can be used as a daily microdose for healing or in a larger dose for a Journey session.
Microdosing: the benefits of microdosing have been practiced by indigenous cultures for centuries. The use of medicinal psilocybin has been shown to reduce psychological distress, such as depression, anxiety, addiction and ADHD. Microdosing is also a wonderful way to gently introduce yourself to psilocybin without embarking on a journey, while receiving medicinal benefits.
PsychedelicJourney: Combined with evidence-based counseling techniques and somatic therapy (i.e. breathwork, meditation, yoga, etc) the goal of a psychedelic journey is to cultivate a deeper connection to oneself and the world. A journey can be combined with EMDR to allow for deeper processing of trauma, both current and past.
How Microdosing Works
Microdosing is a wonderful way to introduce your body, mind, and spirit to the benefits of psilocybin. Many individuals prefer to microdose before engaging on a journey, if they have never experienced psilocybin. This process helps to build a relationship with the mushrooms as well and confidence and understanding of how psilocybin interacts within the body.
Microdosing typically ranges from .05 to .3 grams and is taken daily, 3 or 4 days per week for a minimum of 4 weeks. The dosage will vary per each person’s tolerance and the strain of mushroom.
Microdosing can also support mental health challenges, such as anxiety and depression. With careful screening and support from your physician, we can find a regimen that works for best for you.
